We had the pleasure of spending a few days at Schloss Stein in January 2026 and celebrating a family anniversary there. It was an unforgettable experience! The castle’s kitchen is modern and fully equipped, including an oven, microwave, dishwasher, and a fully automatic coffee machine. Wine glasses, children's dishes, and a high chair are also provided. A cozy seating area with a dining table invites you to relax, while basic groceries, vinegar, and oil add extra comfort for cooking.
Bedrooms & Bathrooms
The castle’s rooms offer the highest level of comfort with 5 double bedrooms and 1 single room, including bed linens and extra sets. A crib is available for toddlers. The 4 bathrooms are modern and feature showers, bathtubs, and toilets, complemented by 2 separate WCs. Towels, shampoo, soap, and other toiletries are provided. A drying rack adds extra convenience.

Situated on the southern slopes of the Drau Valley, Schloss Stein offers breathtaking views to the east and west – a true hidden gem between Lienz and Spittal an der Drau. This impressive location invites you to explore the beauty and history of one of Carinthia’s most charming regions – the Drautal, where light pollution is among the lowest in all of Austria and the night sky shines especially bright.

Local Tax
A general local tax of €1.60 + 0.70 € Nächtigungstaxe (2,30€ total) per night and per person applies. Individuals up to the age of 15 are exempt.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellation up to 3 months before arrival: full refund
- up to 1 month before arrival: 40% of total arrangement price
- up to 1 week before arrival: 70% of total arrangement price
- in the last week before arrival: 90% of total arrangement price
